Marketing Zoltar I Wish I Could Capture My Audience As A Lead : Zoltar Says: Use Entertaining Video
Triple Helix Shares Some Observations
The web is a new platform for consuming media. One of the hallmarks of the web as a medium is the UX (user experience) NORM of user initiated consumption. In English, this means people get to pick when and what they watch, no questions asked. Consider the history of television as a medium; prior to Tivo, you had to wait for commercials to finish, and marketing firms were put in the seat of control. Sure you could mute it, turn the channel, or shut off your TV, but normally, you just let it roll on because it was often easier than the other options just named. (As a sidenote, you have about 15 seconds to capture your audience on your webpage).
Back to the web; because users can leave your website whenever they feel like it, and because the media affords this behavior with user-clicked hyperlinks as the backbone of navigationn and consumption, we are in new territory. Something changed. A revolution took place: people could stay or go when being marketed. Overwhelmingly, people choose to go, not stay... unless they see value in the delivery of the message. In today's web, this usually means marketing has to primarilyhas to be entertaining, engaging, creative, and ultimately, shareworthy. This means marketing and entertainment have been conflated on the web. This means content is not king; creative content is.

An Example: Big Realty LLC, and charlestonmovefree.com
This means creative direction is not dead, but rather more pivotal on the web than it's ever been in any other marketing platform. Triple Helix provided creative direction and ideation, as well as building the microsite itself for www.charlestonmovefree.com. This microsite was built to support a stellar service offered by Big Realty for clients that list and sell & find and buy with them. This microsite's campaign is supported by a video produced in collaboration with the talented Greg Tavarse of Charleston's own Theatre 99
Marketing Zoltar Gives You a Tip
Marketing Zoltar says: " Don't DIY. Collaborate and leverage your business' strengths to aid professionals in the creation of engaging, creative content." Eric Bickel, owner of Big Realty, was faced with a decision to collaborate with multiple parties. That is a sacrifice of time, and an investment of business dollars. Many business owners take the DIY (do-it-yourself) route and the end product shows it. Don't be afraid to collaborate, you just might end up with a video as creative, funny and shareable as this one.
